BASEGATE横浜関内が3/19にオープンしました！
弊社では、商業エリアの企画、コンセプトメイク、平面デザイン、導線計画、1〜5F外観デザイン監修、1〜3F屋外共有部デザイン監修、継承の道展示スペースデザイン監修をさせて頂きました。
ここは元々、巨匠建築家、村野藤吾さんが設計をした横浜市役所の跡地で、これを一部解体して、一部をホテルに再利用し、新たに超高層ビルと小さな建物をいくつか建てて、再開発をするというもの。うちはその全体の低層部のデザインを担当。歴史を繋いでいくデザインと、駅前らしい活性化を目標に様々な提案をさせて頂き、5年を超える長いプロジェクトとなりました！
巨大なプロジェクトはなかなか思うようにはならないし、物価高の影響ももろに受けましたが、それでも当初から考えていた「賑わいづくり」のイメージに近いものになったのではないかと思っています。
店舗のデザインには絡んでいませんが、小さな飲み屋さんも沢山入っているので、日々の生活のシーンにも、野球観戦の前後でも、かなり楽しめる場所になっていると思います。関内から横浜中華街へと楽しい散策ルートにもなると思います。ぜひ足を運んでみて下さい。

100年前にグロピウスは《バウハウスの理論と組織》を出版しました。バウハウスの教育システムが確立されつつある事を示しています。
ここでは、バウハウス成立の事情が語られ、その目的を下記のように言っています。
「バウハウスは、すべての創造的努力を調和させ、新しい建築のうちに、芸術とデザインのすべての訓練を統一化するように努める。
バウハウスの究極のゴールは、いかに遠くとも、芸術の総合作品 ー 建築 ー である。そこでは構造と装飾の間にいかなる壁もない。」
今こそデザインの垣根が取り払われ、この思想に戻るべきなのではないだろうか。
SSOJ(日本空間デザイナー支援機構)はこの思想を引き継いで「デザインの水平領域」という括りで始めてみたいと思っています。
