WATARU ARCHITECTSが手掛けた北岡組本社改修が
iF Design Award 2026 を受賞しました。
既存のプレハブ建築の中央に光のヴォイドを通し、
閉じていたオフィスを社員や家族、地域に開かれた空間へと更新するプロジェクトです。
既存建築を壊すのではなく、
前提を編集することで、次の価値観のかたちをつくる試みでした。
審査員評価でも受賞ラインを大きく上回るスコアをいただきました。

中目黒の集合住宅。
外壁は、杉板の浮造仕上げの型枠によるRC打ち放しです。
杉板の木目の凹凸がコンクリートに転写され、やわらかな陰影と素材感のある表情をつくっています。
光の当たり方によって木目が静かに浮かび上がり、時間とともに異なる表情を見せます。
コンクリートでありながら、どこか温かみを感じる外壁です。

At the intersection of landscape and luxury, VILLA 49 stands as a definitive study in architectural symbiosis. Designed by Kris Lin International Design, this four-story residence is guided by a core philosophy of “embracing nature,” meticulously realized through the holistic integration of architecture, landscape, interior spaces, and soft furnishings. Instead of imposing a structure upon its site, the design employs a language of pure minimalism to dissolve the traditional boundary between private tranquility and vibrant social interaction.
The project is distinguished by two radical architectural gestures. The first, a “Glass Box” restaurant, features pillar-free corner glass curtain walls and expansive minimalist surfaces that frame riverside views as immersive living murals. The second, the “Water Cube” swimming pool, acts as a striking light-guiding instrument. Crafted from high-transparency acrylic and located in the ground-level garden, the pool functions as a crystalline skylight, channeling water-refracted shadows into the subterranean social spaces below. This approach, combined with high-reflectance ceiling systems, transforms what was once a constrained basement into a dynamic, light-filled pavilion.
Throughout the villa, the pursuit of “oversized dimensions” is meticulously balanced by rigorous attention to detail. From ultra-thin drawer profiles to slender glass frames and large-format natural stone, every element is thoughtfully curated to serve the landscape. 国際展示場で開催されているJAPAN SHOPにて、英国インテリアデザイン協会日本支部も参加しているIDMとJCDによる交流会が開かれました。
元会長澤山氏、副会長飯沼氏の司会で亀井会長をはじめとして多数の会員が参加し、今をときめくインテリアデザイナーとの交流に大盛り上がりの夜でした。

キュリオシティの新しいデザインプロジェクトとなる、オークラリゾート 箱根強羅が、2029年に開業することをお知らせします。
「オークラリゾート」としては日本初となるこのプロジェクトは、箱根の歴史的な丘陵地帯を舞台に、建築と自然の深遠な対話を称えるもので、このプロジェクトに関わることを大変光栄に思います。
デザインのコンセプトは「Forest Hideaway/ 森の隠れ家」。傾斜のある独特の立地を活かして創った空間は、まるで風景そのものに溶け込み、自然に包まれるような安らぎを感じさせます。
大涌谷の天然温泉を引いた露天風呂を備え、プライベートな空間を演出する全58室の客室。雄大な森とシームレスに繋がるインテリアが、四季折々の光と影の移ろいを楽しむ豊かな時間を提供できると期待しています。
