Interior Design - Restaurant Shortlisted - Takasu Gaku Design and Associates Inc.
In the heart of Kagurazaka, VERT redefines the Japanese dessert experience with Chasoryusui—a concept developed by Owner-Pâtissier Tanaka that beautifully captures the essence of tea in a space where people, culture, and the seasons unite.
The journey unfolds through three distinct rooms: beginning in the raw textures of the Roji alleyway, moving into the dimly lit Kyakushitsu, featuring a circular counter, a water basin, and flickering lights that invite deep sensory immersion, and finally progressing into the tranquil Chashitsu—a tea room adorned with plaster walls, washi paper, and softly streaming light.
Every detail, from the architecture and design to the plating, reflects a harmonious fusion of taste, atmosphere, and Japanese aesthetic philosophy. VERT is not simply a restaurant but a profound, shared ritual of presence and perception.

高野山から帰る途中に、大阪梅田のグラングリーン大阪の一部である「VS」で開催されている安藤忠雄展を訪れた。大阪では16年ぶりの大作品展だった。1:1スケールの「水の教会」の展示、大空間の映像展示を始め５０年のキャリアを綴る住宅群展示からまちづくりまで、安藤さんの現在までのトータルアウトプットが模型、写真、図面で溢れるほど展示されていた。早速、安藤さんに電話を入れたが不通で、夜東京に帰ったころ電話を頂いた。安藤さんは、展示にご満足の様子だったが、本の売れ行きが以前と比べると1/4減ってると。これはインターネットが原因だと安藤さんは言う。安藤さんは絶えず前進する社会の先端に君臨する。その過程で、無駄な内容の情報は全て削除し、未来に必要な情報、状況のみを活用し、自身の設計活動に全精神を投入している。８３歳、生きるために必要な臓器の1/3を失いながら、子供たちの将来と世界平和を構築するために頑張っておられる超人だということを電話での会話であらためて思った。
僕にとって、安藤忠雄さんとの出会いが僕の人生を変えたと言えよう。

On my way back from Koyasan, I visited the Tadao Ando exhibition at VS, part of the Grand Green Osaka in Umeda, Osaka. It was the first major exhibition of Ando's works in Osaka in 16 years, and the exhibition was filled to overflowing with models, photographs, and drawings of his total output to date, including the 1:1 " Church on Water" exhibit, a large-space video exhibit, a housing complex exhibit that chronicles his 50-year career, and urban planning. I immediately called Mr. Ando, but I was not able to connect. Mr. Ando seemed satisfied with the exhibit, but told me that book sales were down by a quarter from what they used to be. Mr. Ando said this was due to the Internet. Mr. Ando reigns at the cutting edge of a society that is constantly moving forward. In the process, he has put his whole spirit into his design activities, deleting all information with useless content and utilizing only the information and situations necessary for the future. 83 years old and having lost 1/3 of the organs necessary for life, our phone conversation confirmed once again that he is a monster working hard to build a future for his children and world peace.The phone conversation confirmed once again that he is a monster who is working hard to build a future for children and world peace.
